CAL’s Five Minute Film Festival will be held on Wednesday February 24, 2010 at 7 pm at the Mt. Hood Community College Visual Arts Theater.

Please come in the North Entrance and park in Lots J and AM near the Visual Arts Center. See a map here.

Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for adults, on sale now at CAL during lunch. If you’d like a CAL student to purchase tickets for you, please send correct change with him/her to buy them at lunch. A limited number of tickets will be on sale at the door. If you have further questions about tickets, please contact Nataly Garrett or Sarah Fisher.

All proceeds will benefit CAL’s Digital Media & Design program and next year’s festival.

This is a PG-13 event.

Congratulations to this year’s Best Picture winners of The Five Minute Film Festival.

First Place: Zombie Dayz

Second Place: Isolated

The 2008-2009 Five Five Minute Film Festival was held on January 29th from 5:30-7:00 pm in the Forum. Over 150 people came to see movie shorts from the Senior Graphic Design students.

The festival’s student producers are Alexa Kinnear and Sally Lopez.

Two hit men, Russell and Tyson, go to work everyday for their boss Frank Owens. Today they have to silence Ken Smith, a lawyer who protected their boss but went the wrong way and started snitching on other crime organizations. They find Ken in a bathroom, and Russell approaches him, interrupting his rest time. But their mission is not finished, as they encounter obstacles, waste more bullets, and carry more bodies. Finally, they have to make it home from a normal day on the job—whether it’s as hit men for their boss or businessmen for their families.
